What is the 1:1 Inverted Mold Process?

The 1:1 inverted mold process is a high-precision prototyping technique — a silicone mold is cast around the original sample, cured, cut open and used to replicate the sample with a 1:1 match. It is the critical first step of any OEM/ODM project moving from concept to mass production.

Wiilove runs its own mold workshop, equipped with precision CNC machines and high-accuracy inspection instruments, and has accumulated 200+ proprietary mold designs. We respond quickly to exclusive brand requirements, with full control from sample confirmation to production delivery.

Step 01 / 05

Original Sample: Parting & Positioning

Our technicians analyze the structure of the customer’s original sample, determine the parting line and pouring-gate position, fix the sample in the center of the mold frame, and set the silicone pouring thickness and curing reference plane.

Step 02 / 05

Silicone Pouring & Vacuuming

Mixed food-grade silicone is slowly poured into the mold frame and placed in a vacuum chamber to remove air bubbles, ensuring the silicone fully fills every surface texture and fine detail of the sample with no voids.

Silicone Mold Curing & Opening

After the silicone fully cures in a temperature-controlled environment, the mold is carefully cut open along the parting line and the original sample is removed — the fine cavity left inside the silicone is the inverted mold.

Step 04 / 05

Semi-finished Pouring & Forming

A measured amount of TPE or PVC raw material is injected into the silicone mold cavity, vacuumed again to remove air, then cured at a constant temperature — the mold shapes the material into a 1:1 replica of the original sample.

Demolding Trimming & QC

After curing, the product is carefully demolded. Skilled technicians trim flash, polish surfaces and run full QC checks — finished items are stored only when size, surface texture and color strictly match the original sample.
